Lens Coatings
Our lenses are manufactured by Hoya. We have worked closely with them for a number of years as they provide high quality lenses.
When you are choosing your frames, we will also discuss with you the different options available for lenses. Here is a guide to lenses and what they may mean for you.
If you have any questions about coatings, we would be very happy to talk you through the options and different prices, tailoring our recommendations around your individual needs as well as your budget.
Long Life
We often recommend this coating for your lenses as it helps to keep them in a good condition over the years:
- Scratch Resistant
- Dust repellent for easy cleaning
- Oil repellent for less smudges
- Water repellent
- Anti-reflection for visual clarity
UV Control
Over exposure of UV can be harmful to the eyes and is a contributing factor in many eye disorders. This maybe particularly of interest for children, over 50’s and people who spend a significant amount of time outdoors.
- Prevents UV ageing the eyes
- Prevents UV damage
- Protects against UV related eye disorders and diseases
- Provides constant UV protection
Blue Light Control
If you spend a lot of time in front of screens, then it is worth considering a Blue Control coating. In fact, 83% of spectacle wearers experience discomfort when using digital devices. This coating can:
- Reduce Glare
- Enhance contrast
- May help with eye fatigue
Driving Lenses
If you spend prolonged periods behind the wheel, HOYA EnRoute lenses can help create greater definition, reduce glare and improve clarity providing confidence at night.
This shows the difference in the lenses versus the standard lens.
