Emergency & Eye Health
At Clark Optometrists we support the local community with their eye health as well as emergencies. We can in many cases be the first port of call.

If you do have an eye emergency, such as red eye, pain, flashes, vision changes) call us within our working hours. If we are closed then you can also call NHS 111.
If you do call us our trained receptionists will ask you few questions to help us triage your symptoms and we’ll make sure you get an appointment in the right timeframe whether that be same day or at an appropriate time.
One of our optometrists may also call you to discuss it with you further and decide on an appropriate timeframe.
If something has hit your eye at a high speed, there is a sudden change in your vision after an injury or you have severe pain, vision loss or loss of an eye, then call 999 or go straight to A&E.
Looking after your eyes
Eye health is an important part of your overall general health and wellbeing. As many conditions develop gradually and do not cause noticeable symptoms at first, regular eye examinations are essential.
Look out for the following symptoms:
- Blurred or reduced vision
- Frequent headaches or eye strain
- Double vision or increased sensitivity to light
- Red or uncomfortable eyes
- Any sudden change in vision, flashed of light, floaters or eye pain
